The invented 2026 partner survey ran from March to May 2026 and drew 214 answers from a network of 330 partner newsrooms. Partners asked for the same three things they asked for in 2024: staff time, translation, and somebody else to handle the data. The change since 2024 is that 41 partners now share a reporter with another newsroom, against 12 two years ago. Every number on this page is invented.

The pool now covers 30 partners. It opens to all 330 in January 2027, with Spanish and Portuguese first. Haitian Creole follows in April 2027, when the second translator starts.
The 41 partners who share a reporter use 9 different agreements. One model agreement goes out in November 2026.
The median request took 18 hours to fill. Most of that was three emails deciding who would answer. One form with a named editor on the other end should take the median under 6 hours by May 2027.
Shared reporting grew. Forty-one partners share a reporter with another newsroom, against 12 in the 2024 survey.
Answer rates rose. The invented survey drew 214 answers from 330 partners in 2026, against 176 from 312 partners in 2024.
Data help moved up. Sixty-four percent of partners asked for data analysis in 2026, against 48 percent in 2024. The rise came from partners with 5 or fewer staff.
Staff time is still the top barrier, named by 62 percent of partners in 2026 and 60 percent in 2024.
Translation is still the most requested support, at 88 percent in 2026 and 86 percent in 2024. The languages asked for did not change order.
Money is still the second barrier, named by 54 percent of partners in both surveys. No partner named equipment.
